Merging of Placido and Scheimpflug raw data into a single data set from which all maps are computed has been a unique feature of the GALILEI since its introduction. Our scientists have now further perfected this pivotal element of the GALILEI concept with the creation of the proprietary ANISA algorithm (Adaptive Numeric Interpolation for Surface Analysis). Compared with previous merging method, ANISA delivers reliable data across larger corneal diameters, with the potential of more meaningful HOA (Higher Order Aberration) data, improved Keratoconus analysis, improved repeatability of Cylinder values, and further future applications.

The results achievable with ANISA are exemplified in a leaflet that compares maps recorded from precision eye models against the known physical dimensions of these models. Some comparison maps from real eyes are also schown in a face-off with a typical Placido-only topographer and a standard Scheimpflug-only device.
