Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems AG
Ziemer's LASIK application enables a unique way to create LASIK flaps with smooth stromal beds and consistent precision.

Z-LASIK

Create flaps with smooth stromal beds and consistent precision. The treatment plan can be customized to best fit the patient's cornea.

Z-LASIK enables a unique way to create flaps with smooth stromal beds and consistent precision. The precision and speed of delivered femtosecond laser pulses increase the predictability and consistency of flap quality and thickness.

Benefits at a glance

  • Precise, high-quality flaps with smooth stromal beds
  • Z-LASIK OPTIMA offers two cutting patterns
  • Intuitive user interface for a short learning curve
  • OCT imaging for automated edge detections
  • Customizable treatment planning to fit the patient
  • FEMTO Low Energy Concept
The FEMTO models offers multiple applications that can be customized for your surgical needs and it grows as your practice and technology advances.

Z-LASIK - Bladeless laser vision correction

What's different with Ziemer?

As the pioneer in low energy femtosecond laser treatments, Ziemer’s low energy concept provides maximal precision, minimal tissue damage, minimal side effects, and less inflammatory response and is known to contribute to fast visual recovery.

High-quality flaps

  • Ziemer femtosecond lasers operate in the MHz repetition rate range
  • The FEMTO laser works in the low energy range to create a smooth stromal bed and edges
  • Easy to lift flaps with consistent and predictable precision in thickness and cutting quality, even in thin-flap LASIK
The FEMTO laser works in the low energy range to create a smooth stromal bed and edges.

Z-LASIK OPTIMA

  • Customize flap diameter, hinge position and length, side-cut parameters and flap centration to meet patient's needs
  • Preferred pre-settings can be adjusted after docking if required to provide consistent results
  • Choose between two LASIK cutting patterns:
    • Z-LASIK pattern for a large, two-dimensional planar cut
    • Z-LASIK Z pattern for a side-cut, which allows re-centration of the flap under suction

OCT-guided LASIK

  • Intra-operative OCT imaging allows for automated ocular surface mapping and edge detection
  • Ocular structures are easily detected and even the smallest corneal layers can be identified
  • OCT imaging provides a live view throughout all stages of the LASIK procedure and ensures a precise and accurate laser cutting performance
  • Accurate detection of eye structures ensures less manual adjustments to the planned cuts after docking, streamlining the LASIK procedure and providing an excellent patient experience
