FEMTO LDV Z-Models Advanced Training Course

Period of time: 5 days

Location: Main office in Port Switzerland

Device: FEMTO LDV Z2, Z4, Z6PP

The Course is for Service and Application specialists who have a minimum of 6 month’s experience working with the Ziemer Femto LDV Z2, Z4, or Z6PP. It is not a course for a beginner. You will learn how to provide surgery support to a doctor using the LDV, as well as how to train doctors, nurses and operators.
Approximately 2.5 days will be spent learning how to train Doctors for advanced Cornea applications including (but not necessarily limited to):

  • Rings
  • Pockets
  • Lamellar Keratoplasty
  • Penetrating Keratoplasty

The other 2.5 days will be spent on learning how to exchange major sub assembles of the system as well as calibration and configuration changes necessary when performing these tasks.

Prerequisite:
Femto Z2, Z4, Z6PP Basic Training Course or Femto Z8 Service Technical Basic Training

Target group:
This course is designed Service and Application Engineers who have been working with the Ziemer Femto LDV at least 6 months. To join the course an attendee must have completed the required prerequisite course.
Participants must have an educational background in a technical field and general knowledge of ophthalmology.

Objectives of the Course:
Short refresher training about functionality of the system hardware.

  • Discussing the unique selling points, upgrade strategy and types of procedure packs.
  • Refresher training about Lasik applications including complication handling.
  • Applications training including (but not necessarily limited to) the following:
    • Intrastromal Pockets for the implantation of corneal implants (Acufocus Kamra, Myorings etc).
    • Lamellar Keratoplasty
    • Penetrating Keratoplasty
    • Arcuit and Clear Cornea Incisions
  • Perform a SCP using the latest protocol.
  • Refresher training with the Preventive Maintenance.
  • Refresher training of laser beam alignment.
  • System Hardware Exchange and associated calibrations.

The language of the training course is English.
